How does AI affect online shopping?

As a frequent online shopper, I’ve noticed AI’s impact is huge. Personalized recommendations are a double-edged sword; while often helpful, they can also lead to buying things I don’t truly need, creating a sort of “filter bubble.” The algorithms learn my habits quickly, sometimes too quickly, leading to repetitive suggestions. I appreciate the convenience of AI-powered chatbots for customer support, especially for quick questions about shipping or order status. However, they still lack the nuanced understanding of a human agent when dealing with complex issues, often leaving me frustrated with automated responses. Finally, augmented reality features are game-changing. Being able to virtually “try on” clothes or visualize furniture in my home before buying significantly reduces the risk of returns and ensures I’m completely happy with my purchases. This technology is still developing, but it’s already proving incredibly useful. The improvement in visual search capabilities also deserves mention – searching by uploading an image has become a convenient and effective method of finding specific items.
